Velvet is a classic texture that screams luxe and sleek, and is a cold weather classic. Somehow, no matter how it’s worn, it always has an expensive, dressed-up feel to it.
The first velvet piece today is a teal velvet blazer styled by Michelle’s Style File, who dressed down the luxe piece with a high-low jersey top and cuffed jeans, while still keeping the look classy with a pair of nude heels.
Another example of a velvet blazer comes from fashiontoast, who styled a red velvet blazer with a simple gray sweater and oversized, vintage inspired sunglasses.
Last, we have a lovely pair of wine colored velvet leggings styled by Style Souffle. She styled them along with a casual graphic tee with a white blazer to add structure to an otherwise quite soft silhouette outfit. I absolutely love that she paired the wine colored leggings with matching wine colored pumps to give the look a more monochromatic effect.
Below are pieces following the velvet trend on a budget, as usual.
1. Romwe Velvet Wine-Red Leggings, $26.24
2. Romwe Velvet Fluid Skirt, $33.50
3. Romwe Burgundy Velvet Dress, $49.99
4. River Island Red Velvet Blazer, £20.00 (That’s about $30 USD, and they ship to the US for around $15)
Hope this inspired you to try out the velvet trend this fall and winter! Thanks for reading, and let me know what your favorite look shown is!
